After struggling for a while with what I wanted to do for a living, I was thinking about how great it will be to have a job that is actually my hobby. That will make my job much more fun to do and probably be done with lots of passion and therefore with a much better result. And the best part: I got paid to do something I like.

My passion is in photography. Searching for some pictures to use in creations I’d like to make in Photoshop, I found lots of webpages that, or for free, but also for money, offered pictures shot by people from all over the world. One of them was iStock (where you can buy and sell pictures) who delivers very nice pictures and also tells you how to sell pictures to them. I made a calculation which told me you’ll get for about a dollar per download. Not much maybe, but the top picture didn’t look so difficult to make and was downloaded for about 12000 times in the lost 3 months. That’s cool! Make a picture and sell it more then once.

The privacy rules make it somehow (very) difficult to sell pictures that people seem to like best; pictures from people. Not so difficult to take, you would say, but every one – and then they mean everyone – need to sign a form in where they allow you to sell the picture(s). That means that literally everyone – also them in the background who you don’t know – needs to give permission. Nice job for when you’re at a football,- or baseball match.

While browsing the web this week, I saw a website from Brian Moore. He says to know how to sell pictures on the internet and even wrote an ebook about it.
